HOme of The Giants

Last night, I went to a screening of Haley Joel Osment's movie "Home of The Giants". it was shown for the Midwest Independent Film Festival. It was a BRILLIANT movie. It was nice seeing Haley as an adult actor.

YOU GUYS HAVE TO SEE HOME OF THE GIANTS!!!
IT'S A MUST! YOU REALLY HAVE TO!

There was a Pre-show cocktail reception, and there was also a discussion before the screening (The producers Panel) and Rusty was the first one to talk. He mentioned Haley Joel Osment. He said he went golfing with him (even though he [Gorman] was not a golf person) to talk about the script and film. Btw, the topic for the producer's panel was "Independent Film Financing & distribution" It was really interesting.

I met HOTG director Rusty Gorman. I talked to him after the Q&A / before the after party.

with HOTG Director Rusty Gorman

I told him that we are really supporting this film, I also talked to him about homeofthegiants.com and the thing being done for the film to be shown in theaters, the best part of that, He mentioned about releasing the movie in some theaters by February 2009! He said more details about it but my brain was kind of flying already because I was starving. But at least I remembered February 2009. :p

I recorded the Q & A with Mr. Gorman and I have to say it was a pretty interesting Q & A. I will post it up for you guys soon (maybe tomorrow). But these are the highlights / what he talked about.

- Matt's character being the most important and casting the right actor for it.

- Haley Joel Osment's kiss. How important it is (marketing etcetera)

- How did he give the script to Haley / How was he able to get him to be part of this movie.

- How much they offered HJO to be part of this film. (This is my favorite, it shows how much Haley love being an actor. It shows that he is not after the money at all)

--------------------

So what do I think about the film?

It is definitely BRILLIANT! I did not read any reviews about it the fact that I don't want it to affect the way I see the film. Anyway, the movie is really great, I love how thriller, drama, comedy and romance and slight action were all in the film. I have to say I love the thriller part. :p

As for Haley. OH MY GOODNESS. I totally loved his performance. It is very different from his past films and after so many years of watching him in movies as a young boy, its surprising and exciting for me to see him in the huge screen as an adult.

I have to say Ryan Merriman is fantastic. Honestly, I have only seen three of his movies and seeing HOTG makes me want to watch more of his works.

I don't want to go into more details because I might spoil the movie for your guys.

---------------------

To sum it all up..... HALEY NEVER FAILS TO AMAZE ME! WATCHING THIS FILM MAKES ME WANT TO SEE MORE OF HIM AS AN ADULT ACTOR.
